MUMBAI -- The wife of former Star India CEO Peter Mukherjea was arrested today by police for her alleged role in her sister's murder in 2012.
Indrani Mukherjea was arrested by suburban Khar police, DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni said.
"We have arrested two accused (Indrani Mukherjea and her driver) under IPC sections 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence), 34 (criminal conspiracy)," said DCP Kulkarni to ANI.
He told ANI that Indrani Mukherjea and her driver had plotted the entire conspiracy to murder Indrani's sister three years ago.
The case dates back to 2012 when Raigad police had found the remains of Indrani's sister, following which a murder case was registered against unidentified persons.
