Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has dared the Bharatiya Janata Party to end quotas in education and jobs. He was reacting to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's call for review of India's reservation policy.

"I challenge the RSS and the BJP to end reservations," the former Bihar chief minister posted in Hindi on Twitter on Monday. "If they have drunk their mother's milk, let them try. We'll test their strength."

Yadav said that 80 percent of the country's population was made up of Dalits and those from other backward classes (OBCs), and that they would oppose any attempt to do away with reservations.

"You (RSS, BJP) are talking about ending reservations; we'll increase it on the basis of the population," he said.

Yadav took a personal jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referring to his humble background, and daring him to take up Bhagwat's suggestion.
