Online marketplace Snapdeal today said it has appointed Anup Vikal as its Chief Financial Officer.
With over 23 years of experience, Vikal joins Snapdeal from Aircel, where he served as the CFO, Snapdeal said in a statement.
Before joining Aircel, he has worked with InterGlobe Enterprises, Colt Technology and Bharti Airtel.
"We are very excited to have Anup on-board. His wealth of experience in building and executing the financial infrastructure in companies across complex large organisations in the country will further strengthen our leadership team," Snapdeal co-founder and CEO Kunal Bahl said.
Vikal replaces Aakash Moondhra, who quit the company earlier this year.
The e-commerce firm, which competes with the likes of Flipkart and Amazon, has been aggressively hiring talent from the telecom space.
In June, Snapdeal named Bharti Airtel Senior Executive Anand Chandrasekaran as its Chief Product Officer. It also roped in Govind Rajan, who was serving as CEO of Airtel Money, as its Chief Strategy Officer.
On his appointment, Vikal said: "E-commerce is a dynamic and interesting space to work with and my focus will be to ensure that we are financially well positioned yet nimble so that we can continue to create value for our customers, sellers, investors and employees.
