Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday said in an elaborate post on Facebook that PM Modi had been the 'worst victim of ideological intolerance.' The government had put in place several initiatives, he wrote, some of which were reflected in India's 4-point rise in the World Bank-led Doing Business 2016 report, made public last week.
"Much has been done to ensure that award of natural resources and public contracts are completely transparent," he noted, "it is, therefore, incumbent upon every well-wisher of India and the present Government to make sure that no action or statement of his provides a tool in the hands of those who want to obstruct India’s growth story."

Jaitley said that there was a perceptible change in work culture in several states and foreign investors no longer had to wait endlessly to make investments. The so-called Gujarat model of development was now being implemented in several states including Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
