NEW DELHI -- The Delhi Government on Tuesday said that the final proposal on the odd-even formula to curb the menace of ever rising pollution in the national capital would be out by December 25.
"Final proposal on odd-even formula will be out by December 25. It will be implemented from January 1, 2016, applicable from 8 am to 8 pm, exempting Sunday," Delhi's Transport and Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai told a press conference.
He also asserted that cars with even numbers would be allowed to ply on even dates and those with odd numbers on odd dates.
The odd-even formula was among a series of measures announced at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday after the National Green Tribunal pulled up the Delhi Government for failing to curb air pollution.
