Journalist KG Suresh, an authority on right wing politics, could replace Sunit Tandon as the next director-general of the prestigious Indian Institute of Mass Communication, according to the Indian Express. Suresh's name has been proposed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to the Department of Personnel as the next DG, the Express said, quoting sources.

Suresh is serving as an editor for the website and in-house publications of the Delhi-based think tank Vivekananda International Foundation.

Writing for Express, Amitav Ranjan opined this is also a victory of sorts for the think tank that already has member Ajit Doval as National Security Adviser, executive council member Nripendra Misra as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, A Surya Prakash as Prasar Bharati chairman and former DRDO chief V K Saraswat, dean of the Centre for Scientific and Technological Studies at VIF, as a full time member of the Niti Aayog.
