Well, it was clearly too good to be true. Back in October, reports had surfaced confirming that Hollywood action star Arnold Schwarzenegger — best known for the Terminator series — would be making his Indian debut opposite superstar Rajinikanth in Shankar's upcoming Enthiran 2, the sequel to Enthiran (2010).

However, according to recent reports, this is no longer happening. “The team has finally decided to rope in a Bollywood actor to play the baddie. The deal with Arnold Schwarzenegger didn’t work out for various reasons. Hence, the makers decided to move on as the project was getting delayed,” an unnamed source told IANS on Tuesday.

It has been reported that the deal fell through because the former Governor of California asked for a whopping Rs 120 crore (approximately $18 million, going by Thursday's exchange rate) as renumeration and "wasn't ready to budge".

So, who is it that has replaced 'The Governator' in the role of an evil robot, a turn Schwarzenegger could play in his sleep by now? Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, of course.

The 48-year-old star tweeted this out on Wednesday night.

Reports by IBNLive.com and others confirmed that Kumar will, in fact, be replacing Schwarzenegger as the primary antagonist. This will be Kumar's Tamil film debut as well as his first time working with Rajinikanth.

Set to go on floors in January, Enthiran 2 is reportedly all set to become the most expensive Indian film of all time. It also stars Amy Jackson, also as a robot, while Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman is set to do the music again.

Overall feeling, though? Damn. Arnie vs Rajinikanth would've been cool to watch. Sad Keanu.
