KARACHI -- Adnan Sami recently hoisted the Indian flag at his residence in India's Mumbai city to celebrate his newly granted citizenship.
Though he has spent more than a decade living in Mumbai, the singer was granted Indian citizenship on 1 January, 2016, reports The Dawn.
In a recent interview, the 42-year-old singer said, "My belief in destiny was absolutely well founded because I was born on 15 August, look at the irony, it could have been 14 th, but no, He made sure I was born on the 15 th of August- so that was the hint number one."
Sami's citizenship was rejected two years back, but he made several representations to India's Home Minister Rajnath Singh about his citizenship with a fresh application in March 2015.
