Filmmaker SS Rajamouli's upcoming film Baahubali has been making news for a while. First, the Telugu film was billed as the most expensive production in the history of Indian cinema.

And now, the filmmakers claim to have set a record for creating the world's largest poster.

The film's Twitter handle posted a picture of the 'world record' movie poster. The poster was unveiled in Kochi. It is not clear whether this is a Guinness World Record. Guinness officials are required to inspect the poster to declare it a world record.

Set on a budget of Rs 250-300 crore, Baahubali is a two-instalment period action-adventure film. The first-instalment of the movie will be released on July 10 across 4,000 screens, including 200 screens in the US. The sequel is expected to hit the screens in mid-2016.

The story revolves around two brothers — Baahubali and Bhallaladeva — played by Telugu movie stars Prabhas Raju and Rana Daggubati, and their battle for supremacy. The movie is made in Telugu and Tamil, and dubbed into Hindi and Malayalam.

The female leads are played by Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty. The cast also includes Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj and Nassar.

The Hindi distribution rights have been bought by film director Karan Johar.

The movie had set a record even when it released its trailer. The trailer of the Telugu version of the film hit 4 million views within two weeks of its launch on YouTube and its audio track has topped iTunes India and proved to be a best seller.
