New Delhi -- Bajaj Auto on Friday launched what it said was the cheapest motorcycle in the country. Bajaj CT 100B is priced at Rs30,990 ex-showroom, Delhi.

The CT 100B comes with an improved version of CT100’s engine. The bike has round headlamp, wide seats and a large powder-coated rear grab rail. With its aggressive pricing of the CT 100B, the company is aiming to lure used-bike buyers.

“With the CT100B, customers can enjoy the pleasure of owning a new bike rather than compromise by searching for a second hand bike,” Eric Vas, president for motorcycles business at Bajaj Auto, said in a release.

Bajaj’s CT 100, with sales of five lakh bikes since its launch in last February, has been a volume generator for the company.

The company claims that CT 100B has a mileage of 99.1 kilometre per litre. Bajaj gives a two-year warranty on CT 100B.
Last week, the company had launched a 150-cc commuter bike made from the scrap metal of India’s first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant.

Shares of the company, which announced its December quarter results on Thursday, closed Friday at Rs 2,361.10, up by 2.21%.
