ETAH -- A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide after she was assaulted by her neighbours in Nagla Ayaar village here, police said today.
The teenager was harassed and beaten up by two women in her neighbourhood, Saroj and her daughter Guddi, in Malawan Kotwali, following which she committed suicide by setting herself on fire on December 19, they said.
The girl was undergoing treatment in a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
An FIR has been lodged by the girl's father against the two women yesterday, police said.
No arrest has been made so far in this connection, police added.
