NEW DELHI -- Former Delhi University SAR Geelani was denied bail by the Delhi High Court on Friday.
Earlier this week, Geelani was arrested on the charges of sedition, criminal conspiracy and unlawful assembly for organizing an event at the Press Club of India to mark the third anniversary of Afzal Guru's execution.
The Kashmiri militant was found guilty for his role in the 2001 attack on the Indian parliament, and he was executed in 2013.
Geelani was also prosecuted for the 2001 attack, but he was acquitted of all charges in 2003.
"Anti-India" slogans were allegedly raised at the Press Club of India event on 10 February.
