Anyone can have an embarrassing slip-of-tongue moment. But when the person is a powerful political figure and it happens at a public event, even an innocuous mistake may be construed as a pregnant Freudian slip with people grabbing the opportunity to trace back and dissect the speaker’s thoughts.
Congress party President Sonia Gandhi found herself in such a situation when she wrongly said UPA instead of NDA while addressing a rally.
“Almost two years have passed, we have seen nothing, no effort from 'UPA Govt' Gandhi said to the crowd.
Social media, which is used to reacting to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's slip-ups so far, was quick to latch on to his mother's on Wednesday.
Some even offered their psychoanalytic skills for free to decipher Gandhi’s slip of tongue.
