The first poster for Ali Abbas Zafar's upcoming Sultan, starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma, was released online on Monday evening.

The wrestling film, which has been dubbed 'the most awaited movie of 2016' by some quarters, has been largely shrouded in secrecy and its poster is the first real piece of promotional material that has been released by Yash Raj Films, its producer.

Moments after it was put out, the poster was shared on Twitter by various websites and industry professionals, who used various complimentary adjectives to describe it, such as:

"Superb!"

"Fantastic!!!"

"Mind Blowing!"

NOT ONLY IS IT INTENSE, IT IS INTENSE AF.

And we're happy to report that our reaction to the poster is quite sim—wait, no, holy shit, what is this?!?!?!?!

WHERE IS YOUR NECK, SALMAN?

IS SALMAN KHAN PLAYING AN OGRE IN THIS MOVIE? WHY DID NO ONE TELL US HE'S PLAYING AN OGRE IN THIS MOVIE?

Thankfully, one can always trust Twitter to keep things real during such difficult times.

(It says "Sultan ka pehla daav, na jaane kiska sar, na jaane kiske haath-paaon" which translates to "Sultan's first move, but no one knows whose head that is, and whose hand and feet those are")

Here's film critic Rajeev Masand, saying it like it is.

But, well, Bhai's fans — like many sections of the media — just don't agree.

Shout-out to this dude for trying to be diplomatic about the whole thing.

You do you, buddy. You. Do. You.

At the time of posting, #SultanPoster was trending comfortably at the number 1 spot on Twitter.

Mission accomplished?

Sultan is slated to release in theatres during Eid, on July 8.
