Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra said in an interview that he could handle whatever came his way and that he did not need his wife Priyanka Gandhi to ‘enhance’ his life.

On the question of whether he will join politics, Vadra, in an interview to news agency ANI, said, “I will join politics only if I can make a difference.”

Reacting to the question with a "Never say never," Vadra, who married Priyanka in 1997, said he will keep writing on topics irrespective of what people think or say about it.

Vadra has been facing criticism from the rivals of the Congress over the land bank he has amassed in Haryana. The BJP had commissioned an inquiry into the various land deals of Vadra, whom they call ‘Damad Shri’ (son-in-law), after coming to power in Haryana. Vadra had then taken to social networking platforms such as Facebook to hit back at the BJP.

"I was born and brought up here, I would never leave my country even if I am humiliated. No matter what the government says, I have the ability to sustain and to absorb. I have a very strong and good family which gives me strength," he said.
