On his third trip to India, activist and chef Daniel Klein decided to get as close to the country's vibrant culture as possible. But given the vast expanse of India, packing its pulsating life -- complete with its people, food and dazzling colours -- in one short film was nothing short of a Herculean challenge.

But his short film -- A Day In India -- not only compiles three weeks of filming, traveling and eating in India into one day, it offers a truly unique perspective to those willing to look beyond India's poverty and grime to discover its charm.

The project is part of 'The Perennial Plate' -- an award-winning online weekly documentary series dedicated to socially responsible and adventurous eating. Klein was accompanied by filmmaker and Emmy-nominated artist Mirra Fine who is traveling the world with him to explore the stories behind the global food system.

Klein, an Emmy-nominated producer, has trained at many of the world’s top restaurants and is the founder of The Perennial Plate.
