While his famous brother makes people laugh and is almost always in front of the camera, Ashok Kumar Sharma, comedian Kapil Sharma's brother is one of the men in uniform who is saving lives of several in the country.

Ever since Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists attacked the Pathankot airbase on January 2, the not very famous Sharma has been guarding the sensitive defence facility from the outside, reports Times Of India.

Ashok Sharma is a head constable with the Amritsar rural police. On the day of the Pathankot attacks, he along with nearly 80 cops was rushed to the airbase.

Sharma along with his colleagues blocked any possible escape by the terrorists behind the base near Chakki river even as NSG commandos and the Air Force's quick reaction team of Garudas took on the terrorists inside the base.

For the first three days, they had to do 20-hour shifts with only time for a power nap.

They only had the time to eat and sleep when it was finally confirmed that the six attackers had been gunned down.

The elder brother follows Kapil's shows with much enthusiasm and has even met Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan on the sets of his brother's TV show.

Their father Jatinder Kumar too was a cop and had died of cancer in 2004 while on duty as a sub-inspector with Punjab Police.
