NAGPUR -- A Mumbai-bound GoAir flight from Bhubaneshwar had to make an emergency landing on Saturday morning in Nagpur following a bomb scare.

The passengers were deplaned immediately after the bomb threat.

According to Hindustan Times, the airport manager at the Biju Patnaik airport of Nagpur received an anonymous call warning of a bomb on board the flight after which the passengers were off-loaded.

However, no suspicious objects have been found.

Conforming the incident to HT, a GoAir spokesperson said, “The aircraft has been cleared and boarding has almost completed.”

Mentioning the flight number, the caller who used a Odisha number said, “Suitcase mein bomb hai.” It is believed, Sanjeev Mishra, a mentally unstable person who made two more hoax calls in the past 18 hours had called the airport authorities again, reported Hindustan Times.

Security has been tightened ahead of Republic Day celebrations in the country.
